How to make a T-shirt design in Adobe Photoshop

In this tutorial we will show you how to make a design in a simple way, in Adobe Photoshop. Follow these steps and you will be able to make your own T-shirt designs.



open-a3-format-file

Open a file of the size of an A3 paper.

Open a photo and duplicate it once by holding Alt key (to duplicate) and Shift key (to move it on the same line as the original) and then drag it to the right. Right click on it and click Flip Horizontal. Then duplicate both pictures and drag them down. After that, right click again and Flip Vertical.

After the photo is fit to the artboard merge all 4 layers.
Then go to Image>Mode>Grayscale

On one new layer, play with some shapes and set the blend mode to Multiply and the Opacity to 80%.

Now, to center your shapes, select the whole image with the Rectangular Marquee Tool, then click on Move Tool and center vertical and horizontal.

Add your text and then right click on the text layer and click on Rasterize Type. Now you can erase things you don’t like inside the font and make it exactly the way you want.

Take your time to adjust the text and make it look the way you want. Play with it and let your imagination do the work.

Make a selection with the Rectangular Marquee Tool on the border of the artboard, right click on it, then click on Transform Selection. After that, make the selection smaller.


stroke

Right click on the selection and go to Stroke and set the Width to 20px.


texture

The last thing you should do is adding a texture. Open your texture and set the Blend Mode to Multiply and Opacity to 75%.

That’s all! Save the file and set the color mode to CMYK.
