Greeting cards in your desired format
Your greeting cards are created as four-sided printable folded cards made of paper or card. Five classic formats in portrait or landscape format are available. Small greeting cards can, for example, be printed in A7. For a more imposing card, we recommend the maxi card format of 125 x 235 mm. For long envelopes, greeting cards in DL format are recommended, and our other standard formats are A5 and A6. Please note that the format specification always refers to the folded greeting card.
Or should your greeting cards be square? Then configure your special format easily in the configuration menu. Simply enter the desired dimensions into the corresponding field. These measurements are then used for the print. Please be sure to stay within the size range of 74 x 74 mm to 125 x 235 mm. Also, for every edge that is going to be trimmed, please create a bleed of at least 2 mm.

Your colour options for greeting card printing
With tried-and-tested 4/0 CMYK four-colour printing, you have a free choice when it comes to designs, colours and photos. If you want your greeting cards to remain quite simple, printing in just black is also possible. You can create special accents by choosing gold or silver as additional colours. Greeting cards can have a particularly appealing effect when they include lettering in gold or silver. If you already use specific colour tones for your corporate design, then the use of Pantone colours is recommended. The required colour numbers can be easily selected from the configuration menu. Both silver and gold, as well as other spot colours, can be combined with CMYK at print24.com. In this way, a great variety of colour options for the design of your greeting cards is opened up.
You can test the effect of your choice of colours before printing by, for a small surcharge, ordering a screen proof. We then create a digital preview of your greeting cards and send it to your customer account. You can take a look at the result on-screen and then decide whether you want to continue with the print job or modify the print.
Which paper would you prefer for your greeting cards?
For the printing of your greeting cards, you can select from seven different types of paper at print24.com. The classics are the three premium coated printing papers, weighing from 170 gsm to 300 gsm. If you would like to do some further printing on or editing of the card later, offset paper is recommended. The environmentally friendly version with similar properties is our white recycled paper. The paper is “Blue Angel” certified.
For especially high quality, have your greeting cards printed on chromo board or premium card. Both of these materials are not only of a heavier weight and are very stable but also can be finished in a variety of ways. As standard, all greeting cards are delivered folded and cut. From a weight of 300 gsm, they are delivered without folding.

For an exceptional look and feel − greeting card printing with finishing
The types of finishing available depend on your choice of paper. If we use coated printing paper for your greeting cards, then, for example, cellophane finishing is available. You have the most finishing options with chromo board and premium board. On these materials, for example, UV varnish can be applied as a coating or as a spot varnish, and hot foil relief embossing is also available. Both of these types of finishing allow special tactile and visual accents. The cellophane finishing is − depending on the paper − available in both a soft-touch or linen finish, in matt or gloss. At print24.com, different paper finishes can also be combined. One popular combination is UV coating together with blind embossing.
