[App of the Week] I Spy Analytics

Small business owners sometimes need to have a quick look at the performance of their website or adwords campaigns. While on the go you don’t always have your laptop and an internet connection at your fingertips. I Spy analytics certainly isn’t the first and only app to offer this service but it’s one of the best free alternatives I tried.

The integration of an account is fairly easy. Just enter your Google analytics login and it will connect to your account and the associated website profiles. The interface of I Spy Analytics is quite clean and free of clutter. This makes it almost intuitive to navigate.

Select the website profile you wish to check and it will bring you to a customisable dashboard with all the basic information about your page performance.

The default timeframe is 1 week. In the settings section you can choose anything from 1 day to a complete year. Combined with the option to compare with a previous time period this is pretty impressive for a free app.

For more detailed information go to the Reports tab, which features pretty much everything from visitors and traffic sources to goals and event tracking. This also covers your adwords campaigns and e-Commerce reports.

Almost all reports feature easy to understand graphs and a rundown of the numbers. If you want to reduce the strain on your processing power you can simply switch off the graphs in your settings panel.

The app doesn’t allow you to change or create goals, conversion funnels and the likes. I don’t think this is necessarily something you would do with your iPhone, anyway. If you want to export data you should have a look at the paid Analytics Pro app by Thomas Blackburn.

Altogether this app is a very good free alternative to access almost all your website analytics on the go.
