Follow up on the Women Football World Cup 2011
After the male footballers had their world cup last year in South Africa it’s the women’s turn now in Germany at the Women’s World Cup 2011. Starting this Sunday women football (or soccer if your prefer) teams from all over the world enter the arena to decide who deserves the throne in 2011.
With “Germany 2011” from the developers of the immensely popular iLiga South Africa app for last year’s world cup you can stay up to date even if the stupid TV station doesn’t care.
Germany 2011 adapted the tested mix of up to date information, background pieces and extensive material about the teams and groups. All of this is presented in a nice and clean interface. Before the games start you can access the teams’ cadre and their field positions. Once started, you can follow the game in a live ticker, so you don’t miss the right time to cheer for your team. Hopefully there’ll be enough reason to. :)
Besides the above mentioned pieces about the World Cup, all the teams, statistics and so on you also find interesting profiles for every single player as bonus feature.
The only thing this app is missing is imagery. Not having any lecherous thoughts we would love to have all this information spiced up with a few images. We assume this is to keep loading times and data traffic low for those who wish to access their teams’ standing in a roaming area. Why else would the developers also include the brilliant function to optionally limit data refresh for Wifi connection only.
This app is completely free by the way. If you like football you certainly won’t regret downloading it.
