For printing, we at print24.com use high-quality coated printing paper. There are four different weights, from thinner paper with a weight of 115 gsm up to a more robust paper with a thickness of 170 gsm. All four papers are available in either a gloss or matt finish. For the binding, thread stitching is used. Spiral binding is generally not appropriate for theses and so is not offered.

When creating your print file, please note the following

In order to have your dissertation printed, you first need to specify the page format in millimetres. Text and images are best placed at least 5 mm from the page edge. The binding requires a minimum distance of 5 mm from the spine fold. Additionally, please include a 3-mm bleed.

Please ensure that there is an unambiguous page designation and a proper page order in your print file. The page order in the PDF file must be consecutive, making the title page the first page. The number of pages specified in the configuration menu refers to the finished printed and bound dissertation. The four-page cover is counted separately.

The printing options for your dissertation

If your research paper contains coloured images, you can select the 4/0 CMYK four-colour printing process. This allows both photos and colourful graphics to be reproduced perfectly. Otherwise, we print dissertations in standard double-sided black and white. Our standard method of printing of the cover is the 4/0 CMYK process. In order to achieve optimal reproduction, select a minimum of 300 dpi for the quality. Graphics should be created as PDF, JPEG or TIFF files, in CMYK colour mode and with the colour profile ISO Coated v2 (FOGRA 39L).

For the format of your thesis, you can choose between the classic sizes A4 and A5. You can then decide whether to have a soft or hard cover.
