    Printing books with sewn binding

If you want to have bound books printed, sewn binding is a good option. This is the ""classic"" book binding, as it is also used for scientific writings, doctoral theses or self-written novels. We print your books with sewn binding up to 500 pages.

Benefit from extras such as chapter and bookmarks, cover refinements or high-quality book paper. In our print shop we produce books with sewn binding in a print run of up to 500 copies in up to 10 variants per order.

What distinguishes books with sewn binding?

Sewn binding is the traditional art of bookbinding. We sew the pages of your book together using special machines and bookbinding thread. The spine is then glued. This creates a durable, bound book that is easy to open.

Thread binding is particularly recommended if the books are offered as scientific works in libraries or if you are looking for a high-quality realisation of your book project.

Six practical formats for your bound books

We can produce your soft or hardcover books in six different formats. The handy format of 125 x 190 millimetres is ideal for your own small text collections. On the other hand, books in DIN sizes such as DIN A5 or DIN A6 are suitable for bound business reports or anniversary publications.

If you would like to have a photo book printed, the square format 210 x 210 millimetres is something very special. Printing is done exclusively in portrait format.

Real book feeling with book-printing paper

If you wish, we can print your book with sewn binding on wood-free book-printing paper. This paper corresponds to the standard for works of fiction as you find them in bookshops. The paper is lightly coloured and ivory.

If your book contains many illustrations or photos in colour, you should choose coated art paper. This ensures high colour brilliance and depth. Offset paper is a cheaper option. It is somewhat thinner and can be used for large-volume books.

We print books with sewn binding for you from 48 pages and up to 500 pages.

We can implement the cover of your book as a soft or hardcover. Simply select the desired variant in the configurator.

Set accents with a refined cover

On your request you can refine the cover of your paperbacks or Softcover books. A very popular choice is laminating. We apply a foil to the outside of your book. It gives the book additional protection. The "scratch-resistant" version additionally protects your book from scratches on the cover.

In order to make the cover of your work even more appealing, further refinements are available. For example, you can have the title or the name of the author embossed with hot foil. We use foil in silver, bronze, gold, copper, blue or red.

The hot foil embossing can also be combined with laminating. Incidentally, this also applies to the application of UV spot varnish. This can be used to accentuate individual motifs of your cover or title in a very appealing way.

If you opt for a dust book jacket for your hardcover book, we can also refine it for you. We offer the classic lamination with glossy or matt foil as well as scratch-resistant foil and can combine the cellophane wrapping with a hot foil relief embossing on request.

print24.com offers you the possibility to have your books individually shrink-wrapped. This results in a number of advantages for you and your customers. Your books are protected against dust and dirt during transport and storage. Especially for high-quality hardcover books with refined dust jacket or books with inserts, the additional protection makes sense. Your customers will receive a flawless copy and notice immediately that it is new. This also reduces the return rate due to defects. This amortizes the surcharge and is a worthwhile investment in the protection of your goods.

Black or CMYK - what should it be?

For printing of books, we rely on classic printing in black or alternatively on the CMYK technique. With it we can also realise coloured pictures or coloured fonts.

So choose CMYK if, for example, you want to print a recipe book, tour guide, comic, or photo book.
