The difference between flyers and folded leaflets is the number of pages. Folded leaflets have at least four pages, which are separated from each other by a crease, the so-called fold. The format of the folded leaflet always refers to the closed folded leaflet. If, for example, you would like to print a folded leaflet with four pages that has the format A6 when folded, please select a leaflet with four pages in A6 format in the format selection.
In addition to many folded leaflets in standard formats, we also offer folded leaflets in special formats so that there are almost no limits to the printing of your individual folded leaflet.

These are our folding types
For your folded leaflets you can choose from numerous fold types such as gate fold, cross fold, gate fold, fanfold, spiral fold and parallel centre fold. In addition, it is possible to combine some of these fold types and thus have folded leaflets printed with up to 36 pages.
Please note that certain types of folds are only available from a certain format and, for quality reasons, only from a certain grammage (paper thickness).
1-break fold

Letter Fold

Double-gate Fold

How to choose the best paper for your flyers?
You can print your flyers in various paper options, depending on your purpose and preference. The most common option is coated art paper, which comes in different thicknesses from 90 to 350 gsm. This paper is ideal for flyers that have high-quality images and graphics, as it enhances the brilliance and depth of the colours. You can also choose between matte or glossy paper for your flyers.
If you want to make exclusive invitations, you can opt for premium papers, such as Chamois, ribbed, linen, or bright white. These papers have a special texture and feel that make your flyers more appealing and elegant. You can print your flyers on premium papers in thin paper from 100 to 130 gsm or thick paper from 300 to 350 gsm.
If you need to print large quantities of flyers at a low cost, you can use offset paper, which is available in five thicknesses from 80 to 170 gsm. This paper is also suitable for further processing with a printer or copier, as it is uncoated and easy to write on. You can also get offset paper in thicker versions of 350 and 400 gsm.
If you care about the environment, you can print your flyers on recycled paper, which is made from 100% recycled paper and has the "Blue Angel" seal. This paper is white and can be printed in thicknesses from 80 to 300 gsm.
If you want to print durable customer cards or stamp cards as flyers, you can use chromo board, which has a coated front and an uncoated back. The back can be written on with conventional pens.
Choose the best paper for your flyers from our wide range of options.
We offer a variety of paper options for flyer printing, each with its own features and benefits. You can select the paper that suits your design and purpose best. Here are some of the paper options we have for you:
Groundwood pulp board: This paper has a slightly yellowish colour and a slightly structured surface, which makes it ideal for printing. It is made of shredded wood with a high amount of lignin, which gives it a thickness of 1.4 mm and a weight of 575 gsm. This paper is very stable and durable for your flyers.
Felt-marked uncoated paper: This paper has a classic hand-made texture and a soft feel. It is FSC® certified and made of pure ECF pulp (elemental chlorine free). The elegant surface structure of this paper makes it suitable for a wide range of applications.
Grass paper: This paper is a "green" natural paper, made of up to 40% grass fibres, depending on the use. It is an eco-friendly alternative in its production, as it requires less water and energy than conventional paper. The natural-coloured paper has a textured and tactile surface, which can affect the colours printed on it.
Kraft paper: This paper is very strong and resistant, thanks to the long cellulose fibres it contains. Our kraft paper is white on the front and natural brown on the back. It has an open-pored surface, which absorbs more ink and makes the colours less radiant than on coated paper. However, it also has a water-repellent property, unlike most other papers.
STAFIX®STATIC: This is a 50 micron thick polypropylene film that sticks to almost any clean smooth surface by means of a static charge. It does not require any adhesive and can be easily applied and removed without leaving any residue.
How to Enhance Your Flyers with Finishing Options?
You can make your flyers stand out with various finishing options that we offer at print24 Ireland. Finishing can improve the look, feel, and durability of your flyers, and make them more attractive and memorable. Here are some of the finishing options you can choose from:
Blind embossing: This option creates a raised effect on your flyer by pressing certain areas or texts into the paper. It enhances the tactile impression of your flyer and makes it more elegant and sophisticated. You need to select a thicker paper for this option, as thinner paper may not hold the embossing well.
Cellophaning or lamination: This option covers your flyer with a thin film that can be matte or glossy. It makes your flyer more appealing and protects it from dirt, moisture, and wear. Lamination is recommended for papers with a weight of 170 gsm or more.
Hot foil stamping: This option applies a metallic foil in gold or silver to your flyer, and also embosses it. It creates a shiny and three-dimensional effect that can highlight your logo, slogan, or image. You need to select a stronger paper for this option, as weaker paper may not withstand the heat and pressure.
Digital foil: This option is similar to hot foil stamping, but it does not require an embossing die and can be used for smaller print runs. It applies a foil in gold, rose gold, or silver to your flyer using a special chrome roller. It can create metallic effects even in gradients and is as good as hot foil stamping.
Varnish: This option applies a coating to your flyer that can be either relief varnish, UV surface varnish, or UV spot varnish. Relief varnish creates a raised effect on certain areas of your flyer, UV surface varnish covers the entire surface of your flyer with a glossy or matte finish, and UV spot varnish covers only specific areas of your flyer with a glossy finish.
If you have any questions about the finishing options we offer, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to answer your questions and help you choose the best option for your flyers.
You can customize your flyers with folding, grooving, or perforating options that we offer at print24 Ireland. These options can help you create flyers that have more features and functionality, such as detachable coupons, vouchers, or tickets. Here are some tips on how to use these options for your flyers:
Folding: You can choose from different folding options, such as half-fold, tri-fold, z-fold, gate-fold, or accordion-fold. Folding can help you save space, organize your content, and create a more professional look for your flyers.
Grooving: You can groove your flyers to create a crease or indentation along the fold line. Grooving can prevent the paper from cracking or tearing when folded, especially for thicker papers. Grooving is recommended for papers with a weight of 170 gsm or more. If you choose a paper with a weight of 250 gsm or more, we will automatically groove your flyers for you.
Perforating: You can perforate your flyers to create a line of small holes that make it easy to tear off a part of the flyer. Perforating can help you create coupons, vouchers, tickets, or other detachable flyers that can encourage your customers to take action.
With blind embossing, you can highlight a motif vividly. If you choose a high embossing, your motif will be displayed in a raised position, if you choose a deep embossing, the motif will be imprinted as a dent in your printed product.
With laminating, a wafer-thin film is applied to your printed product. This gives your printed product a higher quality and at the same time makes it more robust.
Hot foil stamping uses pressure and heat to apply coatings from a carrier foil to your printed product. This allows you to enhance your print product with metallic effects, for example.
With relief varnish you can highlight certain areas of your printed product both visually and haptically, these are printed glossy and elevated.
With UV surface varnishing, an additional layer of varnish is applied to your printed product, which gives it additional protection and makes it look even higher quality.
With UV spot varnishing, the varnish is applied only partially. This allows you to highlight certain areas of your product both visually and haptically.
We at print24 Ireland would be happy to create other printed products for you such as Letterheads, Business cards or Brochures!
Frequently asked questions about our flyers and leaflets:
What is the paper selection for the flyers: which paper is a flyer made of?
For flyers we offer bright white coated art papers. All offset papers are bright white and suitable for copying and laser printing. Our bright white recycled paper is FSC certified and has the Blue Angel environmental seal. And you can also choose from our special premium papers with different colours and textures, such as chamois, ribbed, bright white or linen. We offer all types of paper in different paper thicknesses and grammage. Most flyers are ordered with 135 gsm picture printing paper.
Which flyer formats are available at print24?
Which format is right for you depends on the amount of your information, the purpose and the target group of your flyer. In the selection box of the configuration menu you can see what we offer for standard formats. From A3 to A8 as well as intermediate sizes and square or long flyer formats, everything is represented. Your desired format is not included? Then click on "Special format" in the configuration menu to the right of "Format" and define your special format. Make sure that your format is within the standard dimensions of 52 x 52 mm and 297 x 420 mm.
What is the difference between a leaflet and a flyer?
Flyers are 1-sided, leaflets have at least 2 sides, and are folded. The number of pages always refers to the processed (e.g., folded) finished flyers in their final state. Please note that certain types of folds are only offered from a certain paper weight due to their quality (e.g., altar folds from 170 gsm).
How much do flyers cost at print24 Ireland?
It depends on how many pages, which format and paper you have selected and whether you want a refinement, such as lamination, hot foil or UV varnish. Simply select from the configuration menu the features that your flyer should have. The price is always updated when you change a setting and is clearly visible next to the shipping price.
How long do I have to wait for my flyers to arrive?
Select between Economy, Standard, Express or Priority delivery time options. The estimated delivery time is displayed directly in the configuration menu. Please note, however, that the delivery time of your flyers also depends on selected extras and quantity. With our fastest shipping method - Priority Shipping - you can receive your flyers within 24 hours.
Which bleed do I have to consider with flyers?
The bleed allowance for flyers is 2 mm on each side. Nevertheless, the print file should not go exactly to the bleed edge, but beyond it. This avoids the unavoidable irregularities that can result from cutting and punching. But do not place important elements and lettering too close to the bleed edge so that they are not trimmed.
What does "Print flyer with spot colour" mean? What is Pantone?
As standard printing inks, we offer four-colour printing in CMYK. Cyan, magenta and yellow are the basic colours of subtractive colour mixing. Black must be added, as it is not possible to produce pure black from these basic colours. Pantone is a colour system for spot and process colours. They are specially mixed and do not consist of the standard process colours cyan, magenta, yellow or black. Each spot colour results in an additional colour separation for printing. The individual spot colours can be determined with the aid of colour guides and colour tables. The Pantone colour system is used for gold and silver. However, the metallic effect can only be guaranteed with 100% ink application. Graduations in the colours lead to a loss. For Pantone colours, a separate colour channel must be created when creating the print data for the corresponding objects.
Please always create the spot colours in a separate spot colour channel and label it according to the spot colour you have ordered. Only the ordered hue can be printed.
Can standard and special colours be combined for flyers?
With print24, you can combine black-and-white or CMYK with Pantone system inks. If you would like to print in spot colours, then select a spot-colour combination in the "Colour" selection box and choose your desired hue, for example 5/5-colour CMYK + gold.
What should you pay attention to when designing the flyer?
You have two options for creating your flyers:
- Use the Design Online tool. This tool will automatically adjust the bleed and the colour profile for you.
- Create your flyers with Photoshop, InDesign, or a similar program on your computer. If you choose this option, please follow these guidelines: Include the bleed in your design. The bleed is the extra margin around the edges of your flyer that will be trimmed off after printing. Create the print data at least in 300 dpi as PDF, JPEG, or TIFF. Use CMYK colour mode and select the appropriate colour profile for your paper type. For coated art paper, use "ISO Coated v2 (Fogra 39 L)". For offset or recycling paper, use "PSO Uncoated ISO12647 (Fogra 47L)
Can I view my finished flyer before it is printed?
There are two possibilities for checking how your flyer will look before printing: Screenproof and Paperproof.
• The Screenproof option allows you to preview your product in your MyOrders folder in the print24 customer account for a small surcharge. You can see your flyer in a resolution of 150 dpi. However, the preview of the screen proofs is not colour-fast, and some deviations are possible.
• The Paperproof option enables you to receive a colour-binding, Fogra-certified pre-print of your flyer on the next working day. This option gives you the most accurate representation of the actual colouring of the flyer. The costs and the delivery time for a paper proof will be displayed online during the selection process.
